DPVC Minibus and transportation

Thanks to the support of local organisations and individuals we have a new minibus/Ambulance.  It is used by DPVC for supermarket visits, the library run and conveying older people to various events.

In addition volunteers provide a ferry service for appointments within the community including doctors, dentists and hairdressers.


Good neighbours scheme

DPVC organise and run a good neighbours and befriending scheme.  This is now being supported with finance from a successsful lottery bid , Friendly AdvantAGE.  The joint bid with Age Concern and SCOPE will enable DPVC to provide more help for lonely or housebound community residents.   Please contact Angela Campbell, Project Coordinator, for further information.


Monday Community Club

A popular addition to our services, the Community Club is held in the Lee Hall every other Monday from 1.30 until 3.30, and provides a forum to meet, have a chat, play games and enjoy different activities.  It is open to all Dinas Powys residents from 0-100.  Entry is free and tea and cake can be purchased for £1.  The minibus is available to pick up individuals who are unable to make their own way to the hall.  Click here for a programme of events

Community Resource Centre

The resource centre, managed by co-ordinator, Wendy Lees, provides an information base and practical help for those seeking advice and information.  In addition the centre provides a photocopying, laminating and binding facility.


Publications

DPVC produces and distributes the Community Directory and a periodic newsletter called DEPEND to every home in the community.  Don't worry if you haven't received a copy or live out of the area you can download here from the Media section of this website.
